Brand Storytellers Talk with Kristina Halvorson

Is brand publishing a more defined version of content marketing?  Kristina Halvorson, nationally recognized content marketing sage and owner of Brain Traffic, jump starts the conversation with four of Minnesota’s leading brand storytellers.

Colby Johnson from Radisson Hotel Group and Erin Gulden from US Bank are content leaders working in corporate marketing environments.  Erin Madsen from MSP-C and Dobby Gibson from Hanley Wood Marketing are content specialists working for multiple clients like FedEx, 3M, IBM, Sherwin-Williams and Delta Airlines.   What content marketing strategies are working for these major brands, and when does the effort qualify as ‘publishing’.

Speaker Bios:

Kristina Halvorson (moderator)

Kristina is widely recognized as one of the most important voices in content strategy. She is the owner of Brain Traffic, a content strategy agency; the author of Content Strategy for the Web; and the founder of the Confab content strategy conferences. Kristina speaks regularly about the importance of content strategy, educating and inspiring audiences around the world. She lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with her two kids, who often get quoted on Twitter.


Dobby Gibson

Dobby Gibson is Vice President of Strategy at Hanley Wood Marketing. As the agency's top content marketing strategist, he leads a cross-functional team of 35+ creatives, content specialists, art directors, digital developers, social media strategists, and analysts. His work has earned recognition as Partner of the Year from Sherwin-Williams, Agency of the Year from FedEx, as well as awards from FOLIO, the Custom Content Council, B2B Online and more.


Erin Gulden

Erin Gulden is an award-winning magazine journalist-turned-content marketer who has worked with several Fortune 500 companies including Delta Air Lines, Optum Health, and General Mills. She is currently Director of Content Marketing at U.S. Bank, where she leads the enterprise content marketing strategy and center of excellence that spans consumer, wealth and corporate business lines.


Colby Johnson

With more than 15 years of editorial, digital, and content marketing experience, Colby has worked with some of the world's largest, most influential companies, including McKesson, U.S. Bank, American Express, UnitedHealth Group, and more. With an expertise in audience engagement, custom journey mapping, lead generation, digital marketing, and high-quality content creation, she has helped clients reach and influence target audiences to exceed business goals and demonstrate impressive ROI. In her current role as Content Creation Manager on the Global Digital Experience team at Radisson Hotel Group, Colby oversees digital content strategy and content creation efforts across multiple brands and channels. 


Erin Madsen

Erin is the vice president of content at MSP-C where she guides the work of content creators in both editorial and design who develop content for more than a dozen clients around the United States.
She oversees the content director’s group as they work in tandem with MSP-C’s comprehensive digital services team on content strategies, ideation, creation, optimization, distribution and measurement for both clients and business development projects.  In 2017, Erin was awarded the coveted Rising Star Pearl Award by leading association The Content Council.
