A Delightful Learning Experience!

Being a Judge for the MMPA Excellence awards (for the past 3 years!) is always a learning experience for me. A delightful learning experience!

As many of you know, working in magazine publishing, at times, can seem a bit isolating, even if you are working on-site with others in your department. You can become so focused on deadlines and logistics, you feel like you are in you own little world. Having the opportunity for open discussion on design with fellow design professionals can be a rarity.

Volunteering to be a Judge for MMPA Excellence Awards not only gives me the chance to view a variety of entries submitted by folks who work in my field, but it gives me the opportunity to discuss design. As a judge, I not only learn from others in my graphics world, but also am given a voice with which to share my perspective of design. I truly believe that my own work has improved as a direct result of this experience. I highly recommend it!
