The Minnesota Magazine Publishing Excellence Awards recognizes and fosters outstanding publishing achievements. This competition includes 88 categories in the areas of editorial, design, circulation, general, and overall excellence.

Jason DeRusha, a general assignment reporter with the WCCO-TV news team, has agreed to emcee this year's MMPA Excellence Awards. He covers the "Good Question" segment on the 10 pm news and has been nominated for 10 Regional Emmy Awards, and won the 2004 Regional Emmy Award for On-Going Feature Series.
Jason was the first television reporter on the scene and on the air at the 35W bridge collapse. He's covered flash flooding, tornadoes, and school shootings.
